A 50km straight run from Beechmont to Boonah T was called, with SW winds forecast to increase, making it a crosswind task. It was a tough day with most climbs only going to about 1200m, no clouds and lots of smoke and an increasing N wind. I pushed out early with Shane, KK, Fred and a couple of others. We had a good run to the Boonah foothills, where I got very low, but managed to get out with Fred. We took the Locked Gate Valley route which worked ok until the Northerly wind increased so much that we had little chance to push headwind to goal. Shane was low surfing along the middle of the valley, whilst Fred landed on top of a tiny hill that I ended up ridge soaring and then climbing out from, only to make a few hundred more metres along course. Most people made it out around the Mt Mohammed area.

Hopefully today is a little easier, and a little higher;-)
