Was another low and slow start with many bombouts, Che and Andrew went for an aggressive start position away from the start gaggle and bombed, requiring a refly. Gareth went back for the last start gate and as conditions improved, was first in goal winning the task in 2hrs 14mins, 22mins ahead of second. Che came in for fourth place with only six in goal.
Task 4
Started with a bang as more instability meant climbs to a week's high of 1800m at cloudbase straight off launch, the first half of the course was high and fast with many gliders in touch, however at the 20km mark a period of shade as a large cumulus decayed made conditions tricky with Gareth decking and Che and Andrew effecting a low save. Dave took a later start and was rewarded by coming into the gaggle high as conditions improved again, Andrew lead the team to goal with 4th, Dave 6th, Wes 7th and Che 11th.
Overall
Although we won 2 out of 4 tasks and placed high in the others, racing fast in inconsist conditions meant that all of the team had at least one low scoring day and suffered in the overall scores. (i'm personally offended by dropping from 3rd to 11th on the last task! ;-))
